Designed and implemented an altitude hold autopilot system in Simulink using a state-space model of an aircraft. Angle of attack and pitch feedback were incorporated for stability augmentation, with proportional control applied to regulate altitude. The controller gain was tuned using pole placement in SISO Tool, meeting targeted criteria for steady-state time and percentage overshoot under nominal conditions.
